About Us.
The Dirt Road Gourmet is a small food manufacturing plant dedicated to providing frozen gourmet hand made casseroles in convenient locations. After hours of research, the owners found that Americans prefer to eat at home for their evening meal. Due to limited time and limited choices, they found that most people select a sack of burgers, barbeque sandwiches or pizza. Often, upon arriving home, the family is unfulfilled by this offering.
After hours of cooking and testing flavors and using their friends as samplers, the owners developed a collection of entrees, appetizers and desserts that offer a hot fast solution of exceptionally high quality for busy families. The offerings are described as welcome home, southern comfort food. Not only are customers using the Dirt Road Gourmet selections as meal options for their families, the frozen casseroles have become a popular gift item welcoming new neighbors and new babies, cheering up a sick friend or for any situation when you want to show another that you care enough to give them a delicious dinner at home. Since the product is frozen, it can be placed in the freezer and enjoyed at a convenient time.
Each casserole will serve a family of four. The casseroles are packed by hand and wrapped by hand in our HACCP approved, commercial kitchen located in Eclectic, Alabama. Following stringent food handling procedures, the casseroles arrive frozen in convenience stores, independent grocers, gift shops and gourmet markets in locations dotted along the pathway of consumers.
The Dirt Road Gourmet takes its name from a reminiscent past. Remember the times you went on family vacations, and your parents took a wrong turn. Sometimes you found yourself traveling down a side road that was a dirt road. There you would find the best barbeque, best lemon meringue pie, best ice cream…that is what we offer. We offer you the best frozen casserole you can buy. We are in unexpected outlets but we are not off the beaten path, we are right in the pathway of your life.
