In this time of proration, teacher cuts, and program cuts – Russell Forest Run and race sponsors have teamed with the Alexander City Education Foundation to host a challenging race, raise a few dollars for the kids, and let runners have a great race in one of the most beautiful areas in the Southeast – the Russell Forest. From start to finish the Russell Forest Run measures 10K and carries runners over gently rolling hills on sand, clay, and gravel roads that were designed for bicycles and electric cars. The scenic route starts at Russell Crossroads, takes runners over to Kob’s Knob, up to Heaven Hill, and back to the finish line at Russell Crossroads. Following the 7:45am 10K, there will be a 5K run which will start at 8:45am near Catherine’s Market at Russell Crossroads. Runners from across the southeast are registering for this race.
