Goat Island Goat Island is nestled north of Martin Dam. It has become the residence for a family of goats for as long as lake dwellers can remember. Boaters often cruise the waters along the island in hopes of catching a glimpse of the island goats. On occasion, the goats have been known to traipse down the rocky hill, eager to see what goodies the boaters may have brought for them to munch on; they especially enjoy lettuce and fruit. |

Graveyard Island Graveyard Island measures 30 by 30 yards and is almost a circle. Surrounded by a seawall of rip-rap, a small county graveyard of long ago is now a tiny island in Lake Martin and can be seen from the lake homes in the Bay Pines area. The fading memorials are protected and still legible after more than a century of existance. It's best to approach it from downwind and tie the boat with a long line so it doesn't have contact with the seawall. The best place to approach the island is from the east, where a shallow, sandy bottom makes it easy to jump out into the water and approach the island. |

Sand Island Sand Island is a small island near Willow Point Country Club and is a favorite for people of all ages. Although in recent years the island has been the recipient of weather damage from Hurricane Opal and a couple of tornadoes, many area residents organize annual clean-ups for the island to help restore it to its original stage for play and frolic. Without the efforts of concerned volunteers, the island may soon slip away into the waters of Lake Martin. |
