This antique store is located in the original Bank of Dadeville, built in 1935. The original floors, tile and hardwood are the same, as well as the windows and doors. The vault is still in place and full of antique and collectible treasures. The store is located just two blocks off Hwy 280.
Old Bank Antiques BUYS, SELLS AND CONSIGNS.
Three new rooms have recently been filled with lovely antique pieces and are now open for browsing in the back downstairs section of the building.
Most of the dealers in the store have been in the antique business for many years and are well known in the Lake Martin area. New to the shop are Cheryl and Bob Daniel, owners of Maewood Plantation - Antiques at Maewood. Cheryl and Bob have brought in many fine antiques and accessories. Cheryl is also available for Interior Design Services.
In addition to his large selection of antiques and collectibles, vendor Bob Harwell custom builds farm house tables and furniture. He has one of the largest cast iron door stop collections found anywhere. These definitely bring back memories!
The Vault is occupied by Bob and Mary Rush Embry. Bob is originally from Alexander City. He and wife, Mary Rush owned and operated an art and frame shop in Dothan, Alabama for 28 years. Bob Embry has written eleven "How to Paint" books and has taught Tole and Decorative Painting nationwide. Mary Rush is also a very talented asset at Old Bank Antiques. The Embry's now reside in StillWaters. Vendors Jack and Leda Foley are continuously on the search for unique antiques to display in their booth. They have furniture, pictures, plaques, figurines, jewelry and much more.
After many years in the antique business, Anne Marie Coffel has closed her shop in Alexander City and has opened second booth at Old Bank Antiques. Come in to check out Annie's hard to beat prices. Thanks to Mary Hites, a StillWaters resident, there are plenty of books on the shelves. She keeps a wide variety from the very old to some of the newer novels; Cookbooks for the cookbook collectors, and a lot of books on arts and crafts, as well as biographies. Also for sale is a large collection of Louis L'Amour novels bound in leatherette.
Jo Pate, a local artist, will paint a lake scene on any "old" thing she can find. Her pottery and art works are favorites at the store.
Rhonda Spiers of Blue Creek Home is a new vendor at OBA. Her booth is a "must see and shop". Rhonda has a booth full of delightful finds for decorating of the vintage kind. Rhonda is a very talented artist and decorator. Rhonda's sister is currently displaying and selling her hand made vintage inspired dresses for little girls at Old Bank Antiques. These are one of a kind and so special.
Jennifer Pounds, a local Lake Martin decorator has one of the largest rooms in the shop packed full of unique items for anyone wanting to change the look of any room at home.
New local artist, Becky Napier has brought in several of her paintings for consignment. OBA is also excited about displaying and offering for sale the paintings of Faye Bozeman, award winning Montgomery artist. You can be the proud owner of work by either of these artist...just stop by and shop the locals.
Four local ladies...Terri, Linda, Brenda and Gloria...lovingly know as the "Ladies of the Lake" have creatively jam packed one of the rooms downstairs with some of the best finds of the unique kind. These ladies know how to shop and stock. It's hard not to find something you must have in their shopping area.
Kimberly Aldridge Benson is now the manager at Old Bank Antiques. Owners Guy and Marsha Hartness are thrilled to have Kimberly managing the store. Kimberly is the sister of Tina Marie, best known for having the most beautiful singing voice in the Lake Martin area. We keep Tina Marie's CD's in the store for sale.
Old Bank Antiques is a favorite for many of Lake Martin's full and part time home owners...come see for yourself what all we have to offer! We also have a few "professional shoppers" that have set up a whole room of unique, "got to have" stuff in the back section of the store.
Throughout the years we have been open (since August 1, 2008) we have had and sold many children's items including tables and chairs, desks, dolls, doll houses, toys etc. We currently have a rare and hard to find metal youth bed...it's a little worn and rusty, but would be something to talk about with a fresh coat of paint.
Other best sellers at the store have been vintage linens, military items, decoys, primitive furniture, lamps, collectible bottles, marbles and glassware.
Visit us soon and take advantage of small town pricing and friendly service. We ship UPS.
Be sure to visit our sister store...The Cottage of Shops....985 feet South of here!
