The Cottage is located in a cute little cottage style home built in 1927. Everything is original including the hardwood floors and single pane windows. It is currently owned and managed by Guy and Marsha Hartness. The Cottage opened as an antique, collectibles and gift shop in February of 2006.

Antique furniture and miscellaneous antique pieces are mixed in with new and vintage collectibles throughout The Cottage. This is not a place to shop if you are in a hurry! There are many things to see and things are stuffed everywhere from floor to ceiling! Take your time and have fun...and feel free to negotiate.

At The Cottage you will find rare and unique items picked up from Estate Sales and unique treasures brought in by friends cleaning out grandma's attic.

Many vintage treasures can be found scattered about inside the many rooms of The Cottage including crotched doilies, pillow cases, aprons, jewelry, figurines, tea sets, dolls, children's clothes, ornaments, VIB's and Precious Moments figurines. There are several vintage perfume bottles for some interested collector.

Many local artist are invited to display and sell their hand crafted items in the shop. Shoppers favorites are the hand woven baskets by Weary Weaver Carol Krenk, Jo Pate's Pottery, Alabama Backroads Photography by Jeff and Jen Barrick, and the beautiful and inspirational artwork From the Heart by Pam Coxwell from Opelika, Alabama.

Candles and Candle Warmers have been a best seller at The Cottage sine 2006.  There are several candle sizes and scents to choose from.  All candles sold here are made in Alabama or Georgia.  For safety reasons, we recommend using the candles with Candle Warmers instead of burning the candles.  All of our candle makers produce extra fragrant candles that smell wonderful for a long time.  Everyone that walks in the store comments on how good it smells in The Cottage.

String Sensations made by Donna Allen of Birmingham are new this season.  These are fun and funky scarves in many colors.  You will love wearing these and be thrilled with all the compliments they bring!

Another popular item carried at The Cottage is the Lampe Berger. The Lampe Berger eliminates unpleasant odors and subtly perfumes your surroundings. First designed in 1898 to control bacterial proliferation in hospitals, it is a state of the art system for both cleaning the air and diffusing perfume.

Fresh Wave odor eliminator products are also stocked at The Cottage. Fresh Wave has a special pet odor product line as well as a product great for getting rid of that musky basement odor.

The Cottage is the only location in Dadeville where you can buy SwitchFlops...the flipflops with the interchangeable straps. The one shoe and many straps concept is very popular!

Lake Martin Dinnerware is also an exclusive of The Cottage. This includes dinner plates, salad and/or bread plates, soup and/or cereal bowls, coffee mugs, wine, water, iced tea, on the rocks glasses, wine coolers and an egg platter that holds 24 deviled eggs. This is a must see collection. Bridal Registry is available for Lake Martin Dinnerware. This design decal was the brainchild of Jen and Jill Barrick of Dadeville. This pottery is made by Jen's cousin, Jane Keller, of Tuscon, AZ. One of my customers always gives a piece of this set every time she has an occasion to give a gift. She will give a plate to hang on the wall, or a set of wine glasses or maybe a coffee mug or two.

Vandy Harper of Harper Family Productions, from Auburn keeps me supplied with Laser Etched Maps of Lake Martin. These are very nice wooden maps and can be personalized. Lots of my customers with lake houses purchase these and they make nice Father's Day gifts.

Silly Bands, Webkinz, and Melissa and Doug toys are sold at The Cottage. There are a few Lee Middleton dolls left from Marsha's private collection.

Visitors to the Lake Martin area have purchased many boxes of Kenneth Boone's note cards from The Cottage. One boxed set is photos of Lake Martin sunsets and the other set is of Lake Martin landmarks. Kenneth Boone is owner of Lake Magazine and a well known photographer in our area.

In the Babies Room you will find Luxury Loveys...the ultimate in baby blankets...and Crown Jewels by Queenie of Auburn, Alabama.

A vintage bassinet cover and Christening Gown is available.
Unique Hair Bows for little girls are available designed by local Kylee Walker.

It's a Sign, a popular collection of black and white signs with great quotes such as "Our Bar is Always Open, It's Five O'clock Somewhere" and "Queen of Frickin Everything", can be found hanging throughout each room. These signs are made by Susan Frymire of the Atlanta area. Susan's mother is a StillWaters resident.

There is always plenty of Auburn and Alabama collegiate items to select from during football season or any time throughout the year.

Tate's Natural Miracle Conditioner and other Tate's products are new arrivals at The Cottage. The Natural Miracle Conditioner is a one of a kind product with at least 18 uses listed. You will love it!

Marsha and Guy are always smiling and in a good mood!

In addition to all the many unique treasures you'll uncover while browsing rooms of The Cottage, other services offered include UPS Pack and Ship, Passport Photos, Money Gram, plus Fax and Copy services.
