MAY 2012
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 8-12 (Lake Martin-Tallapoosa River-Auburn University) want to let the Lake Martin community know that safe boating is very important to us. During the week of the 19th, the USCG Auxiliary 8-12 will be on the water or at Still Waters Marina, making sure that you are safe as you enjoy the begining of Summer. Make sure you are wearing your personal flotation device when operating a PWC or vessel. Make sure to watch out for others. And most importantly, do NOT drink and operate a vessel. It's against the law. Contact: Vice Flotilla Commander Mike Freeman Phone: 334-740-1267

Headlining Blackberry Smoke - You can call Blackberry Smoke’s music southern rock and you wouldn’t be wrong. Or you could call it country and you wouldn’t be wrong, either. But you would be selling both the band and its legion of fans short. With influences that run the gamut from country to bluegrass to gospel and yes, southern rock, Blackberry Smoke is more than the sum of its diverse parts.
