BalletX: The Little Prince at Gogue Performing Arts Center

Philadelphia’s powerhouse company BalletX, led by artistic and executive director Christine Cox, presents The Little Prince—a full-length ballet by choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, recipient of the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award (2019). Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless novella of adventure and enlightenment, Lopez Ochoa’s The Little Prince is a ballet for the whole family, sure to delight the imagination of children and adults alike. BalletX produces original choreography that expands the vocabulary of classical dance for all audiences. Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet company, BalletX unites distinguished choreographers with an outstanding company of world-class dancers to forge new works of athleticism, emotion, and grace. Founded in 2005 by Cox and Matthew Neenan, BalletX challenges the boundaries of classical ballet by encouraging formal experimentation while preserving rigorous technique.
