Martin Hydro Plant - Control Room

The Martin dam control room has not changed much since the dam was built. Today, remote operation is performed from the Alabama Control and Dispatch Center in Birmingham, AL. Martin dam is staffed 8 hours a day, 5 days a week by maintenance personnel. Security personnel maintain surveillance when maintenance personnel are not on site. In the picture below the spherical lights on top of the left panel show an active power grid to nearby cities.  |
